One Day in Brevard with Your Dog: A Local's Guide to Brevard, NC

Greetings, fellow dog enthusiasts! If you've got just one day to soak in the wonders of Brevard, North Carolina, with your furry sidekick, I've got the perfect itinerary for you. As a local who cherishes every moment with their pup, let me guide you through a day of tail-wagging adventures in our picturesque town.

Morning: Coffee and Trail Tails

Start your day at Quotations Coffee Café, a local gem known for its fantastic brews. Grab a cup for yourself and treat your pup to a "puppuccino" – a delightful start to your Brevard adventure.

Now fueled up, head to Pisgah National Forest for a morning hike. My favorite trail to escape the crowds is Pilot Cove/Slate Rock. This loop is just under 4 miles with plenty of access to fresh water for your dog and has a breathtaking view of the forest at the halfway point. The crisp mountain air and the sound of rustling leaves underfoot create an invigorating atmosphere for both you and your dog.

Afternoon: Lunch Downtown and Local Beers

For a tasty lunch, swing by The Square Root. Their dog-friendly patio is the perfect spot to refuel. Enjoy a meal while your pup takes in the sights and sounds of downtown Brevard. If you decide to stroll around the downtown area, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by all the dog friendly shops and inviting water bowls provided for your pup. One of the shops you'll want to check out is DD Bullwinkles. Head in there to replenish more hiking and adventure gear for you and your dog.

Next up, if you’re wanting to grab a local beer on tap and unwind with a group of adventure seekers then you must go to The Hub; a bike shop and beer tavern outside the entrance to Pisgah National Forest. This is my favorite spot to take my dog. There’s plenty of places to sit outside or inside. The outdoor ambiance will get you stoked for one last hike to bask in the setting sun with your best friend.

Evening: Sunset Stroll

As the sun begins its descent, you’ll want to head to DuPont State Forest, a magical place where sunsets cast a warm glow over the forest. The network of easy trails allows for a serene evening stroll, with your dog happily trotting alongside. The best place to watch the sunset, in my opinion, is Big Rock Trail. Park at the Corn Mill Shoals parking lot and set off across the street where you’ll see the Big Rock Trail sign. It’s a short trek up to a granite slab where you can sit and enjoy the view.

In Brevard, the perfect day with your dog is not a rare occurrence but a routine delight. It's a place where every hike, every downtown stroll, and every shared sunset moment at a pet-friendly brewery is a testament to the enduring magic of the bond you share with your four-legged friend. Brevard, undeniably, is more than just a location; it's a canvas for crafting lasting memories with your dog, turning each visit into a chapter in your shared tale of adventures and unconditional love.

Pro Tips:
